Our incredible Grade 9 & 11 Early Education students hosted a Coffee Talk Workshop for families at the Tri-County Children’s Center, diving into the essentials of Kindergarten readiness! ☕✨
While Grade 11 students guided adults through insightful discussions on transitioning to Kindergarten, Grade 9 students brought learning through play to life! It's the week of the Wainwright family ! Today we feature Alumni All-Star: Adam Wainwright!
Adam Wainwright, a proud graduate of Tri-County’s Electronics program in 1994, has built an impressive career in IT. After high school, he continued his education by earning a certificate in Microsoft Networking from BU CEC and completed his MCSE certification in 1999. Today, he serves as the IT Support and Security Lead for the Americas at Nelipak Healthcare Packaging.
One of Adam’s favorite high school memories was during his senior year when his physics teacher invited him and a few classmates to play pool at a local pool hall. The experience was both enjoyable and educational, as the teacher used the game to demonstrate physics principles in a fun, hands-on way.
During high school, Adam also discovered his passion for IT while helping a friend repair the computers in the food trades program. That same friend later helped him land his first job in the industry.
Reflecting on his time at Tri-County, Adam credits the hands-on experience he gained with giving him the confidence to succeed in the workforce. His co-op job provided valuable real-world experience, helping him develop the skills necessary to thrive in a professional environment.
Adam’s advice to current high school students:
"Sign up for as much as you can. The more things you get involved in, the more fun high school will be!"

Alumni All Star Tom Wainright! Tom is a 1993 graduate of the Electronics program!
He continued his education at CCRI and UMass Lowell. Tom comes from a family of Tri-County Alumni, and we will be posting his family all week! He is currently working for IPG photonics laser manufacturer as a repair technician in the service department.
Tom’s favorite memories from high school were the VICA (now SkillsUSA) competition weekends and his senior year working on co-op because it offered him the opportunity to learn more about his trade and get paid. He also liked the free lunch at Gerry’s place when you made the honor roll!
Tom was vice president of the national honor society; that year they completed the 20-mile walk for hunger as a service project for the honor society. It was the second class to be inducted.
The skills and knowledge he learned at Tri-County has contributed to his success in many ways, including working with lasers at his current job. He troubleshoots and repairs lasers both optically and electrically. He says he couldn’t do that without the hands on education from Tri-County.
Tom’s advice to current students: “Work hard, but enjoy every moment, it goes so fast.”

🚚🔧🍳 Teamwork in Action at Tri-County! 🍳🔧🚚
What happens when two amazing programs join forces? Magic! ✨ Our Automotive Technology students, guided by Mr. Pires, took some time to teach our Culinary Arts students, led by the talented Chef Batchelder, how to change the oil on the Tri-County food truck. 🛠️🍔
This hands-on collaboration showcased the power of cross-program learning and highlighted the importance of stepping out of our comfort zones to gain new skills. 💡👏
A huge shoutout to both teams for their dedication, curiosity, and teamwork in making this happen. What an incredible way to learn, grow, and support each other! 💪

🎓✨ LPS students in grades 9 & 11 got an exciting crash course in civics through the Franklin Close-Up program! 🏛️👩🏫 This was our fourth year of this Franklin Close-Up program, which included new stops along the tour! The goals of this day were to provide the freshmen with real-life working examples of the interdependence of town government, and to expose them to the various career options in public service; and for the juniors to consider potential paid/unpaid internship placements (either in Franklin or in their own sending towns) for their senior year. They left inspired by real-world examples of teamwork and collaboration—and maybe with some newfound dreams of a future in public service! 💼🌈
Students heard presentations from the following departments:
Franklin Fire Dept
Town Administrator
School Superintendent
Board of Health
Technology Department
Human Resources
Finance
Town Clerk
Police Department
Arts & Culture
Franklin Public Library
Parks and Recreation
DPW / water sanitation

Recognizing students who go the extra mile!
🚀 How It Works:
✔ When a teacher or staff member sees a student demonstrating behavior that goes Above & Beyond daily expectations, they’ll award them an Above & Beyond Ticket.
✔ It’s a moment to celebrate students and acknowledge their efforts! We celebrating our students who use the core values of TC PRIDE !

Alumni All Star Dylan White! Dylan graduated in 2018 from the Computer Information Systems program. He went on to UMass Dartmouth where he graduated with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration in 2022. He is now a Relationship Banker at Rockland Trust in Franklin. Dylan’s favorite memory was winning the Mayflower title on the 2015 Golf Team and shooting even par in the last tournament he played in. He says his shop provided him with a head start on computer literacy with certifications in Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Technology Associate and Comptia IT Fundamentals. These certifications provided him a base for many great opportunities, including multiple internships while at college.
The senior project taught him how to work through problems and find new solutions when the obvious answer wasn't there. It helped spur creativity and preparing for projects/presentations in the future. The knowledge he gained from his vocational program has put him ahead of others in his workplace, whether it be creating documents and presentations to fixing technology issues.
Dylan’s advice to current students: “Stay interested, always keep asking questions. There's always something you can take away from school and use it later in life.”
