🦁🎨Students in the Early Education program bid a fun farewell for summer to the children who attend the Tri-County Children’s Center at Capron Park Zoo. A fun time was had by all who attended!
Students in the Early Education program study brain development and theories of child growth and development, the foundation of their learning. With these studies, the students are then able to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities for the young children. To the untrained eye, these activities look like “just play”; however, in depth studies of how children develop and learn are required to make it all look so easy!☀️🐾

🔨 From blueprint to build—our Carpentry Cougars just wrapped up a 12' x 16' open pavilion for the Medfield Housing Authority at 30 Pound Street! 💪
💥Built with 6x6 posts, 2x10 roof framing, and asphalt shingles—all constructed by our talented sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Starting in late March, this hands-on project challenged students to cut through an existing slab and dig 4-foot footings. The result? A solid build ready just in time for the big celebration!
So proud of our future builders—your craftsmanship speaks for itself. 🐾🏗️

🎮On Thursday, June 12th the Rocket League Team celebrated its graduating senior captain, Andrae Buttrick.
Dre, who graduated from the HVAC+R program on June 5th, was invited back to celebrate with his teammates and deliver the trophies he has helped earn to the Athletic Director, Mrs. Martin.
Over the course of the last three years, Dre led the team to two second place finishes in the MSAA Rocket League Championships, along with his teammates Junior Lilith Kriz, and freshman Wyatt Taylor. He was the team’s highest scorer and had the highest shooting percentage. Dre is currently considering scholarship offers from multiple colleges and universities on the merits of his Rocket League prowess. We want to wish Andrae all the best in his future endeavors. Take charge, Dre!✨
If YOU want to take part in the Tri-County eSports program, scan the QR code and take a brief survey.
Who knows, you may be the next student leading a team to victory and getting bombarded with scholarships! Let’s game! 😎🕹️

Closing out Faculty Friday with Special Education Teacher Suzanne O'Shea!
What inspired you to become a teacher, and how has your journey been so far?
I had always wanted to be a teacher since I was in high school. I was inspired to become a Special Education teacher through a combination of personal family experiences and a desire to make a meaningful impact in students' lives. I attended Bridgewater State College and when I graduated I got my first job at Boston Higashi School which then led me to become a manager of a Group Home for a few years. In the summer of 2001 I heard about a job opening at Tri-County and began my career here as a Special Education Teacher.
Can you share a fun fact about yourself that your students might not know?
I am a "Swiftie" and I have been to all of Taylor Swift's concerts at Gillette Stadium.
What hobbies or activities do you enjoy outside of teaching?
I love Photography! When my son Dan was growing up I made scrapbooks of our vacations and loved taking pictures of Dan playing sports. Once Dan graduated from high school I found a love for wildlife, landscape, and night photography. I have photographed foxes, bears, moose, the Milky Way, and the Northern Lights to name a few. I have started to travel more and last year I went to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. My goal now is to travel and see all of the National Parks.
What’s one piece of advice you would give to your students?
Everyone learns differently, and that's okay. Your path may look different, but it's just as valuable and important.

It's Faculty Friday! Featuring Health Careers Instructor Lynn Thibeault!
What inspired you to become a teacher, and how has your journey been so far?
I attended and graduated from a RI vocational school starting as a CNA into the field at 16 years old then attending college and graduating from URI. It was actually my SHOP teacher who came my inspiration and mentor, guiding me through college (studying nursing and CTE education). She is still one of my dearest friends!
The journey has been great thus far! I am concluding my 13th year as a health Careers teacher (both from RI and TC) and have been a RN for 15 years previously working as a Level I Trauma/Burn nurse at RI Hospital/Miriam Hospital as a critical care float nurse.
Can you share a fun fact about yourself that your students might not know?
I love to craft and have my own craft, sewing room.
I also was the first in my family to graduate college, although I initially failed out of nursing school the 1st time. I was also a Skills USA (formerly VICA) national medal winner in the Basic Health Care Competition.
What hobbies or activities do you enjoy outside of teaching?
A new recent hobby is reading historical fiction, romance books.
I spend all my time with my 2 children and husband attending their extracurricular activities (gymnastics, dance, baseball, softball). I am usually the team mom taking pictures and planning fun events for them and their teammates. I also love ANYTHING SUMMER, the beach, swimming, and boating on the lake with my family.
What’s one piece of advice you would give to your students?
It's ok to FAIL. It is MOST IMPORTANT how you learn from your failures to push yourself to become better or overcome something challenging and rewarding. Don't let a failure define you.

Alumni All-Star: Shayna Erickson!
Shayna is a 2010 graduate of the Cosmetology program. She chose not to pursue further education and instead went directly into the workforce. Today, she’s an independent stylist at Positive Images Hair Salon, operating as Shayna Nicole Hair.
Shayna’s favorite high school memory? Cheerleading! She recalled how her team was made up of a great group of girls who simply had fun together. They were Mayflower League champions all four years she attended Tri-County, and in 2009, they even got to cheer at the MIAA Super Bowl at Gillette Stadium.
Shayna always knew she wanted to be a hairdresser. After graduating with her cosmetology license, she entered the field immediately. She became a full-time hairdresser at seventeen and started working independently by the age of 23 in 2015. Every day, she puts her cosmetology skills to use—skills she credits to her vocational education. In addition to the technical training, she learned time management and how to communicate with a wide variety of people, many from towns she hadn’t known before. That experience shaped her ability to build strong relationships with clients.
Shayna’s advice to current students:
“Have fun and enjoy it! The real world has a lot more freedom, but also a lot more responsibilities. Don’t get caught up in the drama or popularity. It doesn’t seem like it, but high school is the start of your future. Take the good and the bad so you can learn and grow.”

Proud is an understatement. Yesterday, our Carpentry students showed up with purpose and heart. Carpentry Instructors and students kicked things off with a meaningful conversation about Community Service—why it matters not just for others, but for ourselves. They connected the dots between our program, our school, and the greater community—and how each of us holds the power to make a positive impact. 💬✨
Then came action: 11 of our students joined the Annual Joe Halus Day of Caring, heading to Julia’s Garden at North Attleboro WWI Park for a day rooted in giving back. From clean-up efforts to kind conversations, their enthusiasm and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone there. 💚🌳
So proud. So inspired. This is what it’s all about.
