Ms. Sabasowitz’s Introductory Physics students took learning to a whole new level today by teaming up with our Early Education vocational program for an interdisciplinary lesson on inertia. Students wrote their own short stories to explain inertia, then read them to the preschoolers—turning physics into something fun, visual, and easy to grasp. From there, the creativity took off: high schoolers and preschoolers worked side‑by‑side building block towers or testing ramps with toy cars to model inertia in action.
They wrapped up by drawing pictures of their “experiments” together and talking about where they saw inertia happening. The day ended with a group recap, big smiles, and a whole lot of shared learning.
Hands-on, cross‑age, and full of curiosity—this is what authentic CTE learning looks like. 💡📚

🌟 ALUMNI ALL‑STAR SPOTLIGHT: Connor Capobianco ’18 🌟
Meet Connor, a proud Tri‑County graduate from the Auto Collision Repair program who’s taken his hands‑on skills all the way into the world of engineering and defense innovation. After graduating, Connor attended UMass Lowell, earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2022.
🚀 Where He Is Now
Connor is currently a Mechanical Engineer at Textron Systems in Wilmington, MA, contributing to military and defense projects for the Army and Air Force. His work blends advanced engineering with the practical, real‑world skills he first developed at Tri‑County.
🏒 Favorite TC Memory
Connor’s standout moment was his senior hockey game — a night filled with overwhelming love and support from family and friends. It’s a memory he still carries with him.
🛠️ How Tri‑County Shaped His Path
Connor credits his vocational experience for giving him a major advantage:
“Engineering isn’t just sitting behind a computer — it’s understanding tools, materials, and how things are built. Tri‑County gave me a huge leg up in manufacturing and production knowledge.”
One project that made a lasting impact was his senior project, where he built a utility trailer from the ground up. From MIG welding to material selection and structural design, the experience strengthened his skills and boosted his résumé.
💡 Connor’s Advice to Current Students
“Never doubt yourself. When you put your mind to something and give it your best, you’ll be surprised at what you can accomplish.”
🔩 Skills That Still Matter Today
From documentation and customer interaction to welding, bonding, safety, and material properties — the skills Connor learned in Auto Collision Repair continue to support his success as an engineer.
We are proud of you Connor! Real skills. Real stories. Real success. That’s CTE!
